Pilot Song Book Creator can calculate several useful statistics based on the data contained in your song book database such as the total number of unique songs and discs, as well as the number of songs in your song book database that have a valid link to a song file on your hard drive.

Instructions

1.Select Statistics from the Tools group on the Home tab of the ribbon.

2.Pilot Song Book Creator will begin to analyze your song book and calculate statistics. Depending on where your files are stored (local, external, or network hard drive) and how many songs are in your database this can take from 10-15 seconds to several minutes.  When calculations are complete you will see the following dialog:

3.If you have any songs not linked to a file, the number for that statistic will become a hyperlink.  Clicking it will show a dialog similar to:
Unlinked Songs List
oThis dialog shows the songs for which a valid file link could not be found.
oThere are many reasons a song might not have a valid link.  For example, only songs imported from files on your hard drive, or Siglos Karaoke Professional can have a valid link.  In addition, if the songs files were moved or renamed outside of the song book software, or if the song book statistics function is run from a computer other than the one initially used for the import, the links can be broken.
oIf a disc does not have a valid link to a folder on your hard drive, none of the songs on the disc will have a valid link and they'll all show on this list.  You can tell this is the case when songs have nothing in the Folder column.
oThis dialog can help you troubleshoot broken links and plan for how to re-establish them.
oRe-establishing broken links can be done with the "Merge" as part of the file import feature.  See this topic for more information.

Notes

Unique songs are based only on EXACT matches in your song book's data file for song titles, or artists.  "Brooks, Garth" and "Garth Books" would not be considered unique and would count as separate artists by this statistics function.
The Song Record Link Statistics section provides information on the number of songs in your song book that have a valid link to the corresponding file type.  This information is very useful to predict the success of the file and folder synchronization feature.
In order for a song or disc to have a valid link to a song file on your hard drive, you MUST perform an import from file and folder names or an import from Siglos Karaoke Professional first.
The File Type Link Statistics section will only show data if you have at least one song with a link to a file.  Only the File Types for which there is a link will show.
