Pilot Song Book Creator is designed to work well with Power CD+G Burner from Power Karaoke. Power CD+G Burner is a separate software program (not included with Pilot Song Book Creator) that can rip (transfer) songs from CD+G discs to your hard drive. Power CD+G Burner can connect the the FreeDB during the rip process and download the artist, song title, album, etc for discs that are in the FreeDB database.
If you are just getting started and have not yet began to rip your collection of CD+G discs to your hard drive, following these guidelines will make working with Power CD+G Burner and Pilot Song Book Creator much more efficient.
Guidelines for Power CD+G Burner
| • | When you are ripping a song with Power CD+G Burner that IS in the FreeDB, you will see the artist, title, etc, automatically. You will also see the the Output filename mask change to {Album} - {TrackNumber} {Song} automatically (as shown in the screen shot below.) |

| • | If a disc is NOT in the FreeDB, then your will see "Track01", "Track02" , etc and the Output filename mask will be {Song}. |
| • | Create a new Output folder (by clicking the "..." button shown above) for each disc you rip and name the folder with the disc number you would like to use for that disc in your song book. (e.g. if the above disc were numbered disc H001 in your collection, then you would rip the song files to a folder named "H001") |
| • | We recommend creating one folder on your hard drive to act as a "container" for all your digital karaoke music (i.e. "C:\Karaoke CD+G Discs") You can then create a sub folder under this folder for each disc in your collection. |
| • | Once you have ripped all your music to your hard drive, you are now ready to import them into Pilot Song Book Creator. Simply follow this import process and ensuring the import file name template to match the output file name mask you used in Power CD+G Burner. Note that "{Song}" in Power CD+G Burner directly translates to "{Artist} - {Title}". |
| • | Songs that you rip that were not in the FreeDB will be named "Track01", "Track02", etc. These files will still import into Pilot Song Book Creator with this information importing into the song title field. You can then use Pilot Song Book Creator to edit the artist, title, etc and then automatically rename your the files! This can be a huge time saver and will help keep your collection organized. Pilot Song Book Creator will also keep the song folders on your hard drive named to match your song book data file. |
| • | You do not have to use Power CD+G Burner to use Pilot Song Book Creator to organize your song files. Most programs that can rip CDs use a similar method and similar principles apply. |
