Confirm extracted elements

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

You may see this window during file processing if "Always prompt" or "Prompt on mismatch" was set on the import options window or if there is a potential issue during the synchronization process.  This window gives you the chance to confirm or edit the song data that was extracted from your song file name before the file is imported or renamed.  You can also play this song file in a software karaoke player by simply dragging the Drag me to a Player! label to your favorite software karaoke player (or any media player the file is not a karaoke file).

Brief explanation of this window

1.Original File Name label - Shows you the file name that is currently being processed and to which the song data below was extracted.
2.Artist label - Shows the extracted artist.  If the artist could not be determined you will see "<No Artist>"
3.Title label - Shows the extracted title.  (During an import, if the import file template does not match the song file name, you will see the entire song file name here.)
4.Album label - Shows the extracted album name  You will see "<No Album>" if the album could not be determined.
5.Disc Number label - Shows the extracted disc number.  Disc number is always extracted from the name of the folder which contains the song file being imported.
6.Track Number label - Shows the extracted track number.  You will see "0" if the track number could not be determined.
7.Drag me to a Player! label - If you are not sure what this song is, then you can simply drag this label (left mouse click and hold, then move the mouse) to your favorite software karaoke player such as Siglos Karaoke Player/Recorder! When you drag the song to a program that can play the file, the program will automatically open and begin playback!  This feature works best if you have a shortcut to your karaoke player program on your Desktop or Quick-launch bar in Windows.
8.Confirm button - Accepts the the extracted data and any changes you have made and marks the file for continued processing.
9.Ignore button - Specifies you DO NOT want this particular file processed.  (It will not be imported or renamed or appear in a results report).
10.Cancel All button - Cancels the processing of ALL files (including files you may have already confirmed) and returns you to where you were before beginning the import or synchronization.

Notes

The Drag me to a Player Feature works when you drag the label to the icon of your favorite karaoke player program.
If you see this window during a file name synchronization, changes made to this window will ONLY affect the resulting file name and WILL NOT be reflected in the database!  (This note does not apply during the file name import or merge process).
