If you use Siglos Karaoke Professional and already have a complete song database that you'd simply like to print song books from, this feature is for you!
Exporting the song database from Siglos Karaoke Professional
| 1. | Start Siglos Karaoke Professional (if it is not already) |
| 2. | Select Song database... from the File menu of the main Siglos Karaoke Professional window. |
| 3. | Click Export... on the bottom-right corner of the Song Database window. |
| 4. | On the Export Song Database window, select XML as the Output format from the drop down. |
| 5. | Click the Change... button to the right of Output file and make a note of the name and location for the exported song database file. |
| 6. | Click OK on the Export Song Database window (this will actually create the exported song database file). |
| 7. | You can now close Siglos Karaoke Professional if desired. |
Importing into Pilot Song Book Creator
| 1. | On the Import tab (on the ribbon), click the From Siglos Pro Data button. |

| 2. | You'll see the following dialog: |

| 3. | Click the Browse button to locate the XML file you created in Siglos Export above. |
| 4. | Consider checking the Remove invalid characters... check box only if you received an "Invalid character" error during a previous import attempt. Checking this will direct this feature to open your xml file and remove any invalid characters before performing the import. This will take extra time and is not necessary unless you're experiencing this error. |
| 6. | The import process will now begin in the background. It may take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes to complete depending on the speed of your computer and the size of the XML file you are importing. You will be notified when the import is complete and you'll see the imported data in your song book. |
| • | Your songs will be imported into discs based on the folder (directory) for which they are located on your hard drive. |
| • | As long as the songs in your Siglos Professional database point to valid files on your hard drive, these file links will also be imported in to Pilot Song Book Creator enabling the drag/drop features and file name synchronization features of this software. |
| • | If you use the file name synchronization features of this software AFTER performing this import, the song file "links" maintained by Siglos Professional may be broken (preventing the song from playing in Siglos Professional). If this happens, you can simply re-import the songs into Siglos Professional to restore these broken links. (Refer to the documentation that came with Siglos Professional for instructions on how to import files into its database.) |
| • | Once you've completed this import process, you will want to observe these rules when editing disc numbers in your song book. |
