When Basic mode is unable to determine how your song files are named because the are not named in a common way, chances are that Intermediate mode will work. This mode works by picking an example song file (as you did in Basic mode) and then entering the artist, title, etc as it is in the file name. The software will then determine the exact file name template to use from this input (as shown in the preview at the bottom).
Instructions
| 2. | You will now see the following window: |

| 3. | If a test song is not automatically specified in the Step 1 section, click Browse to select one from your hard drive. |
| 4. | In the Step 2 section, the software will makes its best guess at what the artist, title, etc is but will usually not be completely right (especially if the Basic mode was unable to determine the correct import template). |
| 5. | Check the In file name? check box for each item if that item is in the file name. (e.g. In the above example, all four are in the file name, so all four In file name? check boxes should be checked.) |
| 6. | Type, select from the drop down, or verify the the artist, song title, etc from the file name. This must match exactly of you will see a flashing error icon. |
| 7. | If the song file has additional information in it such as the disc number or genre then specify this in the Step 3 section by checking one of the Ignore: check boxes and specifying the data as you did above in the Step 2 section. |
| 8. | As you are making changes, you will see a preview of the file name template that has been generated from your input in the Step 4 section. You have created a proper template when there is no song data in this preview. (e.g. In the above template you'll see that there is no song data, just data markers (enclosed in "{" and "}") and delimiters. This is an example of what you're looking to see.) |
| 9. | Click OK then you've entered or verified the above. |
| • | If you do not wish to import data such as the Album name into your song book, just check the corresponding Ignore? check box. This is NOT recommended as it is best to have as much data as possible imported into your song book. |
| • | If you would prefer to specify the file name template manually, select the Advanced Mode tab to go to Advanced mode. This might be easiest if you know exactly what file name template to use. |
| • | If your file name contains data that is the same for two or more fields such as a track number of "01" and a disc number of "01" then you will either need to select a different song file as the basis for this process or use Advanced mode to specify the template manually. |
