After specifying what files to search for, its time to specify the templates to use for renaming the files.
Brief explanation of this window

| • | Determine ORIGINAL File Name Format - This template tells the software how the files you wish to process are named. It is critical that this template match your song files exactly. Even an extra space or dash can cause problems. Fortunately, we've created an innovative system to help ensure you are specifying the exact template to match your song files. Unless you know the current template shown is correct for you, click the Edit button to specify. See this topic for details. |
| • | Specify NEW File Name Format - This template tells the software how to name your files during processing. This is what you want your song file names to look like. With the exception of {Disc} (which is determined by the folder your songs are in), you only want to specify data in the new format that exists in your current file names (i.e. is in the original template). Click Edit to change the new file name format. See this topic for details. |
| • | How to handle non-matching song files? - Here you specify what to do when a song file does not match the template. |
| o | Always Prompt - NOT Recommended unless you're processing a small number of files. This will prompt you for every song processed whether it matches the template or not. |
| o | Prompt on mismatch - This will only prompt you when a song does not match the template. You will be given the opportunity to edit the data that will be used to process the song. This option is useful if you have a number of songs that are named "Track01", "Track02", etc. |
| o | Ignore files that do not match - This option will not only NOT prompt on mismatches, but the non-matching files will be ignored (they won't even show in the pre-process report). This option is useful if your song library has more than one naming convention in use. You can run the process once for each naming convention by specifying a different original template each time with this option set and afterwards all your song files will be named consistently! |
| • | The "Disc Number" that is referred to by the {Disc} element, is always derived from the name of the folder that contains the song. This is by design. If you have not organized your song files by placing each song file in a folder named for its disc number (which is the recommended process) then you can omit the {Disc} element from the NEW file name format (template). |
